Before I get to my card, I wanted to thank everyone who participated in the Card Cupids Blog Hop. The winner of the 2 digi stamps is : Jessie.
Congrats :)  please email info@cardcupids.org to receive the free digital stamps.

Now for my card. The challenge at Simon Says Stamp and Show is;  Depth of Distress To make a distressed look on this card, I took several different colors of stamp pads and lightly went over the background paper. I love how it picks up the texture in the paper.

Christmas Card Challenges Week #30

Can you believe we are in week #30 of our Christmas Card Challenges?  It seems like the year is flying by. This week the challenge is to use rolled flowers on your Christmas card. I love the look of rolled flowers. They really can make a statement on a card.

Week #30

Here's my card. By putting 3 pearls on the large rolled flower, it looks like a bird's nest.

Come see all the wonderful cards the design team has made with this fun challenge. I hope you can get a chance to join us. I would love to see your cards.

Card Cupids Blog Hop

Card Cupids

Welcome Card Cupid followers! My name is Michele. I live in Utah. I am married and have two teenagers. My daughter is 17 and my son is 13.  I have always been into crafting and scrap-booking.  About 7 years ago I really got into card making and paper crafts. You could say I'm obsessed, I spend all my free time making cards and anything else that has to do with creating. I love to up cycle items and alter things. I save almost everything that I think I might be able to use for a project, which drives my hubby crazy because he will want to throw something away and I always try to rescue it. LOL.  I'm excited to be on the Card Cupids design team and hope you will be inspired and enjoy the cards I have to offer.  I'm also excited to work with the other design team members.

Please stop by to welcome each of these fabulous ladies to the Card Cupids team. Just by leaving a comment on a Design Team members's blog including this one, you will be entered into a fun little give away for our two exclusive digis. By leaving a comment on each blog you will have 14 chances to win! You have until Monday, June 25 at 9pm EST to leave your comment.  Winners will be announced on each DT members blog as well as at Card Cupids on Wednesday, June 27.

Here are some more cards I made for Card Cupids.

Orange and Purple Card

So I made this card for the orange and purple color me creative challenge at Inspire Swap Chat and then forgot to enter it in the challenge. oops!!!! But I did get the sketch from Operation write home #125 and planned to enter it there as well so at least I can do that much.  I have been wanting to send cards to the troops for awhile now and here's my chance. If you get a chance, go to their blog and send them some cards of your own. It's a great opportunity to share your creativity for a great cause.

Unscripted Sketches #163

It’s time for our monthly PIGGYBACK CHALLENGE! If you haven’t played along with us before on a piggyback week, it is simply an additional, optional challenge. Whether or not you choose to add the piggyback challenge element to your project will in no way effect consideration for Top 3 or other prizes.
Our additional challenge this week is to use USE VELLUM. It’s often forgotten and under-used, but it’s one of the most wonderful materials to add variety to your projects

Here's my card. The Flower is stamped on vellum
the design team outdid themselves again with so many beautiful ways to use it! It’s so versatile and we’d love to see what you do with it! Whether you choose to do the piggyback challenge or not, post a link to your project at Unscripted Sketches

A great new discovery

I came across a wonderful blog called Card Cupids. They provide Happy Mail to kids who are facing difficult challenges in their lives. You can donate your hand made cards to them and they send them to the children who need some smiles.  I'm glad I found this place. I love making cards and this will be a great way to share my love of creating. It also gives me a chance to make the fun kid type cards that I don't get to do much. I will definitely be doing this. You should check them out and maybe donate some cards too, cuz  who doesn't love HAPPY MAIL?
They also have challenges and the challenge this time is Animals. Here's what I came up with

Speaking of fun kid cards, here is one I made for My Nephew's Birthday. I got the pattern from a friend on the Inspire Swap Chat website. She found it on a blog and I wish I could remember which one it was, but if you go on Pinterest and  search for angry bird patterns, I'm sure you will find it. It's all made with punches.

Christmas Card Challenges #27

Hi everyone, this is my first post as a designer for Christmas Card Challenges. I'm so excited to be on such a great team!!!

This week's  Christmas Card Challenge  is to create a card with a sentiment only - no image.
And as you can see I took it literally. LOL  All I did was stamped the words all over the card with red and green ink. Then raised the  Merry Christmas sentiment on pop dots so it would stand out. It was quite simple to do but I think it has great impact.

I hope you will join us and see what all the other design team members have cooked up. There is plenty of inspiration to get you going on your Christmas cards and have them done in time for Christmas. I can't wait to see what you will make. :)

I am entering this card here:
ABC Christmas challenge. K for keep it simple

Time Flies SEW Fast

Here's a  card I keep meaning to share but haven't until now. I noticed over at
The challenge this time was to use Kraft paper and twine. So I think this goes perfectly with that challenge.
I really love how this card turned out. I'ts one of my faves:)  Hope you like it too.
